Suff. Bishop Willie L. Burrel was born on June 4, 1952 to the union of Bishop William L. Burrel and Dr. Willi B. Burrel in Pontiac, MI. He was the first of 12 children born to this very blessed union. Sfg. Bishop Burrel was baptized in Jesus Name at an early age but gave his life fully to the Lord in 1975 in Syracuse, N.Y. He was the catalyst behind the building of the Bishop William L. Burrel Multiplex Center, which was named after his father.

As a graduate from Orchard View High School and furthering his education at Michigan State University, Bishop obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and a Master's Degree in Theology from the Florida Bible and Seminary in Orland, FL. Sfg. Bishop Burrel was married to the love of his life, Sis. Zandra M. Walker and to this union were born 3 children. Sfg. Bishop is a former Northern District Council Chairman and was elected to the Executive Board of the PAW Inc. as Lay Director of the 6th District. He served as a Western District youth chairman, assistant secretary, treaurer, District Elder (15th District). He also developed a special relationship with the people of Nigeria and visisted the country semi-annually on missions of encouragement and development.

He was also the President of the Western Michigan Bible Institute Inc. started by his father and mother in 1984. He was a tireless advocate for his community. He served the City of Muskegon Heights for more than 20 years as a City councilman and as mayor pro tem. He worked as Executive Director of Mission for Area People for 18 years and offered vouluntary service as a member of serveral local boards.

On the home church level, he served as the youth chairman, Sunay school teacher, Prison Ministry chairman, and Assistant pastor and Pastor for 15 years. He loved to serve and was a people person. Once you met him, you never forgot him or that smile.
